How to order a taxi at the Allenby checkpoint

Travel time and route
The distance between Tel Aviv and the checkpoint is about 100-110 km.
The trip takes about 1.5-2.5 hours, depending on traffic and the situation at the border.
The main route is along Highway 1 and then Highway 90 towards Jericho and the checkpoint.
On the way, you will pass Lod, Ramle and the southern part of Jerusalem, and then descend into the valley along the Judean Desert. Along the way, the landscapes of the Shfela plain, desert plateaus and the Jordan Valley open up.
Information about the Allenby checkpoint
- Also known as the King Hussein Bridge or Gesher Hussein.
- NOT open 24 hours - closed at night, as well as on Israeli and Muslim holidays.
- There is strict control at the border, the crossing is outside Israeli jurisdiction.
- Important: you cannot cross in a rented car, it is best to have an Israeli driver.
- The crossing is divided into a pick-up/drop-off area and a bus section under Jordanian control.
