How to order
You can arrange a trip from Haifa to the Taba checkpoint in just a few minutes. Specify the route - from Haifa to "Taba (border terminal)", select a suitable date and a convenient departure time. The system will show available options, after which you only need to choose a car and provide your contact information. If you need additional options - for example, a child seat or an English-speaking driver - you can also add them right away. After confirmation, you will receive a notification and a link to pay. Everything is simple and without unnecessary bureaucracy.
Travel time and route
The distance from Haifa to the Taba checkpoint is about 370 kilometers. The trip takes on average 5.5-6 hours, depending on the time of day and traffic congestion. The route runs along the main highways of Israel:
- Highway 6 — to the south of the country
- Highway 40 — through Beersheba and the Negev
- Highway 90 — along the Dead Sea and through Eilat to the border with Egypt
On the way to Taba, you will pass:
- Beersheba — the largest city in the Negev
- The Negev Desert — the picturesque expanses of southern Israel
- Mitzpe Ramon — an observation deck overlooking the Ramon crater
- Eilat — a resort town on the Red Sea, the last major point before the border
Information about the Taba checkpoint
The Taba border crossing is located in the southern part of Eilat, just a few hundred meters from the embankment and hotels. It connects Israeli road 90 with the Egyptian highway towards Nuweiba, Dahab and Sharm el-Sheikh.
Open daily from 06:30 to 20:00, except for religious holidays. On the Israeli side there is an air-conditioned terminal with toilets, currency exchange, vending machines with water and snacks. On the Egyptian side there is an exchange office, SIM cards, basic tourist services. There is no Duty Free.
